East Tennessee DX Association

CALL CQ  -.-.  --.-  THAT’s WHAT WE DO!

 

The November meeting of the East Tennessee DX Association (ETDXA) was held on 11/18/24 Our President Tim Berarducci, AJ4HW, called the meeting to order at 1805 hours.

 

Attendance:

Members in-person: 11  Members on Zoom: 3

Guests in person: 2  Guests on Zoom: 0

Total attendance:  16

 

Health and Welfare:  Nothing reported                                                                       

 

Old Business: The V.P. position remains unfilled.  The club will be most grateful if someone would volunteer for this important activity.

  

Treasurer’s Report:   There are limited funds available to fund upcoming DXpeditions. This should improve as 2025 dues are soon expected. Seven memberships were paid up during the meeting. Total Paid membership is 32 plus 2 honorary members.

 

New Business:  Two upcoming Dxpeditions were discussed and contributions will be voted on at the January meeting.  They are: TX7N Marquesas Islands, and a combination of VE9C Cocos Islands, then VK9XU Christmas Islands.  Don and Ann Backys, K9UQN and K9ANN, rejoined the club. Welcome back.

 

DX Report:  Mike, N4MIK reported that solar conditions continue to be excellent for propogation.  He also reported that WSJT-X Fox & Hound mode has changed.  Tim, AJ4HW, reported that the DX Marathon contest is soon drawing to a close.

 

Hamfest:  Nothing reported

 

Program:  Each person in attendance described their journey in ham radio, including how they began, favorite activities and modes of operation, station description, related anecdotes, etc.  This made for an enjoyable and interesting evening, and offered further insight into our fellow members.

 

Door Prize:  There was no door prize drawing

 

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 1920 hours.
